Singulair (Montelukast) is in a group of oral medications called leukotriene receptors. Leukotrienes are a substance produced by the body that respond to triggers and cause airways to swell and narrow. Singulair works by blocking the effects of the leukotrienes, which helps prevent and manage asthma symptoms.
