Actos is a medication used to treat people who suffer from type 2 diabetes, by regulating blood sugars. Type 2 diabetes is a condition that comes from the body’s lack of making efficient use of insulin. Actos improves the response your body has to the natural supply of insulin, rather than increase the insulin supply. Actos will also reduce the production of excess sugar in the liver. Actos can be used in combination with insulin injections or other oral diabetes medications.
Type II diabetes is a condition where the body cannot properly hold on to or produce fuel for energy. The body’s main fuel is called glucose and is needed to produce the hormone known as insulin produced by the pancreas. Insulin is the natural hormone produced by the body to transfer sugar out of the blood to the cells for use. Some people with diabetes can still produce insulin but their body cannot use the insulin properly. Actos is used to start lowering the blood sugar; noticeable change may take some time after beginning treatment.
